Railway ministry鈥檚 Oxygen Expresses deliver 831 mt of oxygen in 24 hours

The Ministry of Railways has announced that its Oxygen Expresses delivered a record of 831 metric tonne (mt) of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) in a day, overcoming all the difficulties and finding solutions to it.

As much as 4,700 mt of LMO in over 295 tankers have been delivered to Maharashtra, Telangana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi. The ministry also stated that 75 oxygen expresses have already completed their journey so far.

The ministry said that it has so far delivered as much as 293 mt of LMO in Maharashtra, 1,334 mt in UP, 306 mt in Madhya Pradesh, 123 mt in Telangana, 40 mt in Rajasthan, 2,011 mt in Delhi, and 598 mt in Haryana. The first Oxygen Express to Karnataka has also commenced its journey from Tatanagar in Jharkhand and has been on the way to Bengaluru with 120 mt of oxygen, the ministry added.

Running of new Oxygen is a very vigorous exercise and figures keep getting updated all the time. More loaded Oxygen Expresses are expected to start their journeys later in the night, the ministry said.
