Universal Construction plans Rs 30 cr expansion

Pune-based equipment manufacturer Universal Construction Machinery and Equipment is taking up expansion plans worth Rs 30 crore. The company has plants at Pune and Rudrapur in Uttarakhand. The expansion will help the company double the revenues within couple of years and significantly grow the export business to markets such as South Africa and Middle East. The company, which accounts for nearly 55 per cent share in the concrete equipment handling business, has some of the large companies such as L&T, Gammon and most of the construction companies based in Andhra Pradesh as clients. The company is in the process of establishing 15 exclusive outlets across the country by March 2011, which would enable prospective buyers to experience the products.
