DP World Cochin Handles Record 834,665 TEUs in FY 2024-25

DP World Cochin has achieved a record throughput of 834,665 TEUs in the financial year 2024鈥25, reinforcing its position as a key gateway port for South India. Praveen Joseph, CEO of DP World Ports & Terminals, Cochin, credited the milestone to capacity expansion and the introduction of new services like the Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ), which has supported regional EXIM and coastal trade growth.

The terminal鈥檚 strategic location and direct mainline connectivity to key global markets such as the Far East, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East have allowed 50% of cargo to be transported directly, avoiding transshipment delays and reducing transit times.

Joseph added that the company will continue to prioritise ease of doing business, speed, productivity, and sustainability, while enhancing synergies between terminal operations and the FTWZ. He also acknowledged the vital role of the Cochin Port Authority in enabling this achievement.
