CEO assures Smart City projects on schedule for May 31 finish

Sanjit Rodrigues, the CEO of IPSCDL, stated that he had convened a review meeting with stakeholders, including the PWD officials, to discuss the progress of Smart City projects. During the meeting, he mentioned the commitment to completing designated areas by May 31 and reminded contractors of the deadline. Despite challenges like high water tables and traffic hindrances, Rodrigues expressed confidence in timely completion.

Sanjit Rodrigues also mentioned the progress and challenges faced by the project. He acknowledged the difficulties but assured that efforts were being made to stay on track for the May 31 deadline. Rodrigues highlighted issues such as manpower shortages due to elections and the need to balance work with curing time for concrete roads.

Regarding concerns about water wastage, Rodrigues clarified that most of the water being pumped out during dewatering was necessary for construction work and not wastage. He emphasised the importance of proper drainage systems in Smart City projects to prevent flooding during monsoon showers.

Rodrigues also addressed criticisms regarding the placement of water pipelines, stating that proper care had been taken to ensure separation from sewage chambers. Despite challenges and criticisms, Rodrigues reaffirmed his commitment to completing the project by the deadline, with a possible slight extension if necessary.
