Nagaland Smart City and commercial capital rank bottom ten

Kohima, the sole smart city in Nagaland, as well as its commercial centre Dimapur, saw a decline in cleanliness over the last year, according to the Swachh Survekshan 2022 report, which was published on October 2.
According to the annual national cleanliness survey carried out by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under the Swacch Bharat Mission, both Dimapur and Kohima were placed in the bottom 10 of the list of 882 cities with a population of 1 to 10 lakh.
Notably, both cities' overall scores declined in 2022 after significantly improving the previous year.
Out of the two, Dimapur was scored higher, receiving an overall score of 1112.87 points out of a possible 7500 points, placing it at position 376 out of 382 cites.
With a score of 1530 points, Dimapur's ranking in 2022 has significantly decreased from 322 last year out of 372 cities.
While Kohima was classified as a city with a population of 50,000鈥�1 lakh in 2021, in 2022 it was placed in the 1鈥�10 lakh category.
Nevertheless, it was ranked fifth from the bottom as its score dropped from 1321.04 in 2021 to 1098.08 in 2022. (378 out of 382 cities).
In 2022, the 1-10 lakh category's nationwide average score was 2618.00 points.
The top three cities in the category were Kurnool, Rewa, and Tirupati, whereas Itanagar, Jhunjhunun, and Anantnag were first, second, and third from the bottom, respectively.
