The Imagine Panaji Smart City Development (IPSCDL) announced that more than 90% of the overall infrastructure works implemented under the Smart City Mission at Ribandar, Panaji, have been successfully completed. According to a senior official from IPSCDL, substantial progress has been made in the ongoing Ribandar infrastructure development, with completion rates ranging from 75% to 95%. The official stated that efforts are being made to create a sustainable urban center in Ribandar under the Smart City initiative, with active endeavours to swiftly complete the remaining tasks within the committed deadline. The IPSCDL-appointed contractor is executing the work of building a network of new sewerage and drainage lines to enhance sanitation in the area as part of the 'Development of Smart Ribandar with operations and maintenance of selected facilities' project. Additionally, the IPSCDL has undertaken the development of internal roads of Ribandar with bituminisation and the creation of footpaths with kerbs. The official emphasised that the Smart City Mission projects at Ribandar reflect collective efforts to achieve the Smart City vision, highlighting the importance of collaboration and innovation in urban development as Ribandar progresses. The IPSCDL is investing approximately Rs 690 million in creating these facilities.
