Smart City Mission: Futuristic infra projects to improve Udaipur rank

The central government has released an online ranking, in which four cities of Rajasthan 鈥 Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, and Jaipur, have secured the 8th, 11th, 29th, and 36th rank among the 100 smart cities of the country.

Udaipur is expected to improve its ranking under the smart cities mission due to several infra projects in the future.

Private players are executing futuristic infra projects that will make routine activities convenient for the citizens and add value to tourism while the government is making efforts to elevate cities infrastructure.

Damodar Ropeway and Infra Limited (DRIL) will be investing approximately Rs 20 crore to make the ropeway project, which is estimated to be completed by the end of 2022.

DRIL has selected two major locations for the project 鈥 the famous Fateh Sagar Lake and the ancient temple Neemach Mata.

He further added the 430 m long ropeway planned by DRIL will add feathers to the cap of Udaipur which has always been popular as a scenic tourist destination due to the magnificent palaces and the second-largest artificial freshwater lake in Asia.

Managing Director of Damodar Ropeways and Infra Limited Aditya Chamaria told the media that the company wants to contribute significantly to the nationwide campaign of 'Make in India' by using indigenous raw materials, employing Indian civil engineers, local construction workers, and establishing projects according to the government guidelines.

Damodar Ropeways build major ropeways in India including Ropeway at Science city, Kolkata, Ropeway at Maihar, Satna, MP, Naina Devi, Namchi, Vaishnodevi, Tawang, Gangtok, Sikkim, Trikut, and many more. DRIL has the potential to redefine commuting in urban cities with a positive impact on the environment by reducing carbon footprints.
