At SMC headquarters, Junaid Azim Mattu, Mayor of Srinagar, conducted a thorough review of the various ongoing projects being carried out by Srinagar Smart City (SSCL).
Vice Chairman of the Lakes and Conservation Management Authority, Secretary of the LCMA, General Manager of P&UD and SSCL, Joint Commissioner (Works) of the SMC, Superintendent Engineer of the LCMA, Executive Engineer of the Right River Wing Division of the SMC, the concerned design and engineering team, and other SMC officials were present at the meeting.
The Mayor gave instructions to the involved officers to develop a workable action plan for the repair and retrofitting of three existing bridges at Karam Shah (RA), Saida Kadal, during the meeting. He emphasised that because it is a motorable road, repairing these three bridges can allow vehicles to travel two kilometres shorter.
The proposal put forth by SSCL to LCMA regarding the conversion of Mir Behri Dal into a tourist village was thinly discussed during the meeting.
The VC LCMA presented the Mayor with a thorough report at the time. It was suggested that Dal Lake's interior residents, numbering about 30,000 households, receive rehabilitation.
It was also suggested that community infrastructure interventions be made, highlighting the significance of infrastructure development for Dal residents. Participants in the meeting further suggested fixing processes and coordination under LCMA jurisdiction.
