Plan for 14.57 cr Jalliyakhal beautification project receives approval

The working plan of the Rs 14.57 crore Jalliyakhal beautification project has been approved after tendering process in Madhya Pradesh.

The treatment plant is to be constructed near Mahendranagar, and the farmer concerned has also passed the required five bighas. The municipal council will give a compensation of about Rs 1.25 crore, according to information.

The contractor can begin work of laying sewerage lines from the new Malipura side till the completion of the compensation process.

Council officials said that the work would begin within a month, and the contractor would finish the project in a year.

Jalliyakhal is a rainwater drainage system. It begins from four-lane over the bridge and Naya Malipura in the city. Currently, the difficulty is that 28 drains passing through the town fall in this Jalliyakhal and causes difficulties during monsoon resulting in foul smell pervading the surrounding region and also warns outbreaks of water-borne diseases.

The project would not only resolve the problem, but it would also help in beautification.

The project took a long time to receive financial and administrative approvals.

The council floated a tender after all approvals were received on March 21, and Ahmedabad-based JM Vagasia Company got the tender for the work. After tendering, the working drawing made by the company was passed last week, without any restriction in the work.

Jaora chief municipal officer Durga Bamnia said that the plan of the Jalliyakhal beautification project has been approved. The process of acquiring five bighas for the treatment plant has begun. The farmer has also given permission. The work will begin quickly.
