Bisleri, PCMC Partner for Zero-Waste Plastic Management

Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) under a joint Zero Waste Management CSR initiative. This partnership will focus on decentralized plastic waste management at the ward level and promote 100 per cent segregation and recycling practices in the city. The MoU was exchanged between Shekhar Singh (I.A.S.), Commissioner, PCMC; Nilkanth Poman, Chief IT Officer and CSR Head, PCMC; Sachin Pawar, Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Health Department); and K. Ganesh, Director 鈥� Sustainability & Corporate Affairs, Bisleri International.
The initiative will be carried out under PCMC鈥檚 Zero Waste Management through CSR Program and Bisleri鈥檚 long-running campaign, Bottles for Change. The partnership will aim to:
- Promote 100 per cent source segregation,
- Establish community-level awareness programs,
- Support a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) within PCMC limits.
The goal is to collect and recycle 360 metric tonnes of plastic waste annually over the next three years, diverting it from landfills and integrating it into a circular economy model.
K. Ganesh, Director at Bisleri International, highlighted the project鈥檚 alignment with Bisleri鈥檚 environmental goals: "This collaboration shows how community engagement can lead to measurable environmental impact. By spreading awareness and establishing collection systems, we can prevent plastic from reaching landfills and reinforce a circular economy.鈥�
Nilkanth Poman, CSR Head at PCMC, emphasized the inclusive nature of the programme:
"Through this partnership, we aim to empower slum communities with tools and awareness for responsible waste management, driving both environmental and public health improvements."
Sachin Pawar, Deputy Commissioner (Health), added: "The Bottles for Change campaign will support our efforts to educate citizens and promote segregation. We expect this partnership to deliver meaningful improvements in urban cleanliness and sustainability."
