Ganga water to reach Greater Noida homes from September

On Saturday, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) officials announced that houses in Greater Noida would get Ganga water from next month.

GNIDA was supposed to begin providing Ganga water several months ago, but the project got delayed due to the pandemic. It was expecting a clearance from the authorities to commence work at Bisada village. GNIDA could not begin digging the land there for laying the pipes since an Indian Oil pipeline was already there.

A sum of Rs 800 crore would be used on bringing around 85 cusecs of water into the town. Ganga canal in Muradnagar will supply the water.

Additionally, GNIDA officials claimed that around 1,500 of 19,000 farmers were left to be provided developed plots for the land they had given up for several projects. In the next round, 387 farmers from Sakipur and Dadha villages would be provided plots. These plots have already been developed, and the land department is creating a checklist that will be issued to execute registries.

On Sunday, officials from the development authority visited the industrial blocks in the Ecotech sector, following complaints from businessmen regarding poor drainage networks, water supply, etc.
