Haryana CM approves Rs 120 mn water projects for rural development

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar granted administrative approval for two significant projects valued at over Rs 120 million under the rural augmentation program in Rewari and Palwal districts.

These approved projects encompass the construction of a canal-based industrial water works and raw water pumping station in Rohrai, Kosli, Rewari, estimated at Rs 104.3 million, and the enhancement of the water supply scheme in village Pachanka, Tehsil Hathin, District Palwal. This Palwal project involves the installation of two tubewells, construction of UGT 100 KL, and laying of distribution pipelines, all estimated at Rs 22.7 million," stated the government spokesperson.

Providing details about the project in Rohrai village, the spokesperson explained, "Currently, Rohrai village receives its drinking water supply from a canal-based scheme in Rojhuwas village, Rewari. The existing water supply, at 52 LPCD (litres per capita per day), is insufficient given the considerable distance from the water works and the growing demand. To address this, an independent canal-based waterworks will be constructed for Rohrai village, along with additional distribution pipelines within the village. Upon completion, this initiative will ensure a sustainable drinking water supply of 70 LPCD, providing numerous benefits to the villagers and ensuring water security for Rohrai."

Khattar also instructed officials to initiate the approved projects promptly and establish a deadline to ensure their completion within the specified timeframe.
