New Terminal at airport remains closed to flyers

Several flyers have been expressing their dissatisfaction with the non-operational status of the airport's new terminal building, which remains closed almost a month after its official inauguration. They have criticised the authorities for not providing any information regarding when it will be opened to the public, referring to the government's March event as an April Fool prank.

Approval from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) for the new terminal building is still pending. The authorities are aiming to make the building operational by April 15.

The new building was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on March 10 virtually, along with several other projects. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, in his address, had urged authorities to ensure the building's operationalisation by April 1, emphasising that its inauguration should not be perceived as an April Fool joke on the people.
