The commissioning of the Dabok Mines of Udaipur in Rajasthan's one megawatt peak (MWp) DC floating solar power facility was announced by solar energy solutions supplier Oriana Power. Udaipur Cement Works Limited (UCWL), a division of JK Lakshmi Cement, has commissioned the project. The Dabok floating solar power station will contribute to the state government's objective to methodically utilise renewable energies by producing about 1.7 million units of clean electricity annually. An estimated 4.4 million litres of water are saved annually by a 1 MW floating solar panel system, which can cut water evaporation by as much as 70%. The state offers enormous untapped potential in terms of strong solar radiation, one of the most sunny days per year, and the availability of huge uncultivated, unutilized public and private lands. Rajasthan might become a highly sought-after location for solar energy as a result, according to Anirudh Saraswat, co-founder and chief business officer of Oriana Power. Following the completion of 1 MWp Hindustan Copper Limited, Khetri, 1 MWp Hindustan Salt Limited, Nawa, 4.35 MWp Udaipur Cement Limited, Udaipur, and 8 MWp JK Laxmi Cement Limited, Sirohi projects in the previous several years, this is Oriana Power's fifth project in the state.
