Indraprastha Gas and ACME Group strike a green hydrogen partnership

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by the city gas distributor Indraprastha Gas and the diverse renewable energy company ACME Group to jointly investigate possible commercial opportunities in green hydrogen.

Across order to encourage consumer acceptance and generate demand for green hydrogen across the nation, ACME and IGL will collaborate. They will also look at the possibility of setting up hydrogen production facilities, including electrolyzer deployment, to include green hydrogen into IGL's current pipeline networks that feed gas to homes, businesses, and other settings, as well as CNG for vehicles.

Manoj K Upadhyay, Chairman, ACME Group and Founder, stated, "Both the partners will identify areas/projects for green hydrogen adoption in the country."

While IGL, a green energy supplier to numerous cities and millions of homes, has a ready-made network to combine green hydrogen, ACME offers its knowledge and skills to the cooperation. According to Ashwani Dudeja, President and Director (Green Hydrogen and Ammonia), ACME Group, "the two partners will also cooperate on policy matters and help the industry and government to bring in an enabling regulatory framework that facilitates and incentivizes the customers to provide long-term offtake commitments for green hydrogen and green ammonia."

IGL and IOCL worked together to run a hydrogen-enriched compressed natural gas (H-CNG) pilot project in Delhi.
