The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has initiated an Obstacle Limitation Surfaces (OLS) survey at Rourkela Airport, paving the way for its upgrade to Code 4C standards. Originally set for 15鈥�22 April, the survey began a day later and involves a team comprising a senior GIS analyst, GIS analyst, and associate consultant. The upgrade, requested by the Odisha Government, aims to support larger aircraft such as Airbus A320s and Boeing 737s. Plans include a 2,700-metre runway, CAT I ILS, and DVOR systems.
