Mangaluru City Corporation launches e-portal for online tax payments

Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has launched an online portal for citizens to pay property taxes online and check property details.

The online portal for property taxes was launched on Monday by the MLA's D Vedavyas Kamath, Dr Bharath Shetty, Mayor Premananda Shetty and MCC Commissioner Akshy Sridhar.

The Self-Declaration Property Tax payments have been in practice since April 2008, the mayor said.

The citizens have been paying taxes through different methods issued by the MCC in different banks and service centres.

For public convenience, this online portal has been launched to pay tax online and verify property and tax details. Taxpayers will receive complete information of their previous payments, pending and upcoming payments on the portal.

The online portal has been updated with different property categories, including residential properties, commercial properties and non-commercial buildings within the MCC.

The payable amount will be displayed on the portal according to ward wise building numbers. The calculations are computerised with no errors in billing amount to provide ease to the taxpayers.

The mayor said that the public could reach their zonal commissioners or tax officers for further information regarding online tax payment.

Further, the bidding process of the property survey has been completed and will soon begin work.
