The Uttar Pradesh government plans to develop a data centre park at Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) in Noida district, spread across more than 200 acres.
According to the media, the data centre park would draw investments from the information and technology (IT) sector, both from the country and abroad. By August end, the execution of this plan would start.
The officials of YEIDA revealed that the park would attract an estimated investment of Rs 20,000 crore, employing thousands of people.
As per IT experts, this investment in the electronics and IT industry Noida would be competing with Silicon Valley in the US in the upcoming years.
In the last few years, many prime companies in the electronic and IT industry have massively invested in Noida because of the investor-friendly policies of the UP government.
Recently, notable companies like Adani Group, Microsoft, and MAQ have purchased land to develop data centres in Noida.
Apart from this, HCL, Google, and TCS have already established themselves in Noida. On the other hand, Netmagic Services, STT Pvt Ltd, Hiranandani Group, and Aggarwal Associate Ltd are reaching out to the UP government about building their private data centres.
The Yogi government outlined a new IT policy and declared many grants and relaxations for the investors.
The grants below the Electronics Manufacturing Policy-2017 inspired 30 huge investors to show interest in spending Rs 20,000 crore in the IT sector.
Yogi Adityanath announced Greater Noida, Noida, and Yamuna Expressway areas in the National Capital Region as the Electronics Manufacturing Zones.
