Auda to Construct 5,000 Houses

In two years, Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (Auda) has pledged that it will construct 5,000 houses in the newly demarcated 'affordable housing' zone in the city. For this purpose, the Auda committee allotted almost 43.25 sq km of the total 67.51 sq km under the zone. The size of these affordable houses will be 66 sq m for middle income group housing and 36 sq m for Lower Income Group housing.

The authority identified areas like Kathwada, Nikol, Bhat-Sughad and Khodiyar, amongst others for the affordable housing project.
