Supreme bags 'ACREX Award of Excellence 2013' under the Green Product Category for 'INSUboard'.
Mumbai-based, Supreme Industries, known for its continuous initiatives in delivering sustainable and green products have bagged the prestigious 'ACREX Award of Excellence 2013' in the Green Product Category at ACREX 2013, for its INSUboard (Extruded Polystyrene Board for Thermal Insulation).
"We are grateful to the distinguished panel of experts who considered us deserving for this award. The recognition strengthens our pledge to offer high-performance thermal insulation products that are energy efficient and environment friendly," expresses Team Supreme.
The product is a closed-cell, rigid extruded Polystyrene board with a continuous skin surface, derived from its process of manufacture. The lightweight product combined with the closed-cell structure and uniform surface, supports the imposed loading during overdeck and floor applications. Low thermal conductivity of the product offers energy savings in critical air-conditioning areas. Even in non-conditioned buildings, it reduces the temperature by seven to eight degrees, creating a comfortable living atmosphere. It retains the low thermal conductivity over its entire life spanning several decades.
It is also moisture resistant. As a 'Green Product', its application for overdeck or underdeck within cavity walls reduces solar energy gain by air conditioned buildings, thus providing valuable recurring energy savings and costs in terms of reduction in size of A/C plant requirement. 'INSUboard' uses raw material, which is indigenously produced. This is thus an innovation, ability to lead the process of insulating buildings in the country by presenting a world-class product.
Other 'INSU' range products include:
- 'INSUshield': Closed-cell, non-fibrous, fire retardant (Class 'O' in fire propagation and Class '1' in surface spread of flame) chemically crosslinked polyethylene foam.
- 'INSUflex': Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) tubing.
- 'INSUreflector': Reflective Insulation.
