Known for its entrance automation and loading bay equipment, Gandhi Automation now launches its latest product the retractable tail lift.
The retractable tail lift by Gandhi Automation packs a triple whammy! It is easy to use, safe to use, and smooth to use. These features are enhanced by the various parts used in the tail lift. The tail lift has a steel platform with 400 mm high front ramps and three different-sized side ramps. Its mechanical functions include steel guides with high yield limit, tail lift deployment and stowage under chassis by means of a double-extension cylinder and self-lubricating bushings and chrome-plated pins. The lift has a compact and soundproof hydraulic group with a closing seal, along with lifting and tilting cylinders and a double cylinder. Flow adjusters are used to compensate on all downward movements.
The controls come without electric components, and the external control box is fixed to the body. The plates are assembled with the use of bolts; for trucks and trailers, tail lifts are provided with a preassembled platform, controls and guides, on demand. Materials used conform to EC standards. The product is delivered fully assembled and tested with the tail lift mounted to the chassis by bolting, thus eliminating the need for welding and repainting the semi-trailer.
Applications
The retractable tail lift is very smooth to use. Using the tried and tested features of Gandhi Automation’s Futura range of retractable lifts, the latest tail lift has the advantage of a flat/horizontal platform incorporated into it. This is especially suited to roll cage operations. The superb Anteo guide-rail system eliminates any ‘racking or bouncing of the lift frame and platform during deployment and retraction. Available in the Futura version, one can choose to have the facility of tilting the platform at any level a must where the operator loads or unloads on gradients.
The safety features of the tail lift include three-way stops or leading edges, in-column lift style to the three open sides, and
the new fully automatic, mechanically-operated foot protector or roll cage stop. The guard automatically rises and falls as the tail lift is operated. As the platform moves away from the body, floor level cam locks lift the guard, thus preventing trapping or crushing anyone on the platform; at the same time, roll cages are prevented from falling as the lift descends to ground level. As the lift is raised back to floor level, the guard automatically falls in level with the platform and body, allowing the smooth transition of roll cages into the vehicle. The retractable tail lift is very easy to use with the Anteo automatic positioning in and out.
