Tribunal stops construction work of commercial project in Aundh

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) bench has ordered the construction work of a mega commercial project in prime Aundh locality in Pune to stop, pending a revised process by the state environmental impact assessment authority (SEIAA) for an extension of the environmental clearance (EC) for the project within 10 weeks. The project is being jointly implemented by Chaitrali Builders and Sumashilp Pvt Ltd and involves a mall, a commercial complex and a hotel, among others, at survey no 169/1 in Sector-I and a part of Sector-II in Aundh. The green court also directed the Pune Municipal Corporation麓s (PMC) city engineer to inspect the project site for verification of the nature of construction activity and for submission of a report to the SEIAA.
