The parking branch of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC) has filed a full report on the current state of the parking lots and their operation to the additional municipal commissioner, who forwarded it to the municipal commissioner. The parking branch also sent a notice to the paid parking contractors, requesting that they follow the terms of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) and install all smart features on the ground. The move comes in response to the orders of the senior officials to post a detailed report on parking, as an adviser to UT administrator Dharampal recently reprimanded the MC for failing to ensure smart features in paid parking lots in accordance with a contract signed by the MC and private contractors. The two-page detailed report includes the number of challans issued to paid parking contractors for violating the rules so far, as well as the details of the penalties imposed on them.
