CIDCO fast-tracks NAINA town planning project in Navi Mumbai

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) told the media the execution of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project over 371 sq m of land around the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport is progressing at a faster pace, and the work on three of the 11 town planning schemes have already commenced.

CIDCO also said that the landowners have been directed to submit their consent letters as soon as possible, who are part of the schemes four to 11.

The work under NAINA covers 175 villages in the Raigad district, and 11 town planning schemes are being executed in 23 of these villages.

The main highlight of the town development plan under NAINA is that it will be developed through a participatory basis instead of land acquisition.

The landowners under this scheme are going to contribute equivalent land. Therefore, they will get 40% of the developed plot from their original land even if it is affected by any reservation, and the carpet area will also be the same as the original land.

Thus, the landowners will gain complete returns on their plots. Over the remaining 60% land, CIDCO will develop playground, gardens, roads, schools, growth centres, and other facilities.
