Due to the slow pace of construction, the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) has extended the deadline for the Life Mission housing project on its Mundamveli property for the rehabilitation of P&T Colony residents. Over the past four years, the projects have already missed several deadlines; the most recent was on December 31. Although only about 70% of the projects have been finished thus far, this has forced the authorities to change the deadline to April 30. The plan is to build 86 apartments, with 82 people benefiting from the project. Four units will be used to set up a cr猫che, reading room, and other amenities. There will be two building blocks, each with four floors. Deck Each floor has sheet concrete flooring, and the building is steel-framed. The structural erection of Block 2 is complete, and the remaining work, including plumbing and electrical work, is moving quickly. Block 2 will be finished by the end of January. The work was previously postponed because the contractor, Thrissur District Labour Contract Cooperative Society (TDLCSS), allegedly had trouble raising money.
