Colonies in Jaipur older than 35 years yet to be regularised

About 900 plot owners residing in Jadon Nagar and Madhav Nagar developed behind the Durgapur railway station are forced to shift from one place to another as the Jaipur Development Authority would not issue lease deeds.
The colonies are over 35 years old, and many residents and civic bodies have developed roads, streetlights and other facilities from its funds. But due to the absence of lease deeds, residents are troubled, including house expansion, utilising loans for construction, land conversion, etc.
Earlier, memorandums had been submitted to the Chief Minister, but that failed to convince the JDA officials. The residents are again demanding residents regularise the colonies as the Prashasan Shero Ke Sang 2021 camp approaches.
The housing cooperative society developed these colonies in 1985. The owners constructed these houses on the plots with 100% occupancy, and in 2002, the record of data was given to the civic body. In 2009, a survey was conducted, but even after 11 years, the process to issue the lease has not begun, residents said.
The authority has planned to earn Rs 46 crore from leasing 15,819 deeds to the plot owners of 142 unapproved colonies. The residents will pay the lease deeds to JDA. The infrastructure has developed and resolved a few technical issues, and the government can earn more than expected, a resident said.
JDA aims to issue about three lakh lease deeds to the owners living in regularised and unauthorised colonies under its jurisdiction. It will have 30% of the state government's target to issue 10 lakh lease deeds.
