Construction works along Rispana river destroying its ecology

According to environmental activists and locals, construction activities along the Rispana river in Rajpur are destroying the ecology of the entire area.
They have alleged that hillocks are being flattened, and natural resources are being sold for a profit, triggering frequent landslides in the region.
According to a report, the problem was prominent in the northern part, but now there is uncontrolled construction east of the river. Reenu Paul, a Doon-based green activist, said trees are being cut down and hillocks flattened. The ecology of the entire area is being destroyed due to construction works.
The residents have alleged that recently the area has also become prone to landslides due to the ongoing construction activities.
People living in the area highlight that authorised construction activities are gradually encroaching on the reserved forest areas.
A brazen flattening of a hillock took place near Tarla Nagal, Rajpur Road, where a private builder is starting a project on about two acres of land.
The earlier report claims that the Jaipur-based firm has flattened about 7-8 acres of land. The area is across the Rispana River and can be seen from MDDA Park in Dehradun.
According to a resident, there is ongoing work for Sainya Dham, and construction is underway on its surrounding land. Trees are cut down and completely changed the layout. The matter was taken to the administration but yet not considered.
The district administration has denied receiving complaints in this matter. Authorities have also denied giving any no-objection certificate (NOC) for hillock flattening.
