DDA greenlights Phase-IV of online housing scheme, launching on Jun 30

Delhi Development Authority announced that phase-IV of the DDA's online housing scheme, which follows a first come, first serve basis, will be launched on June 30. The scheme allows individuals to book a flat of their choice in their preferred location by paying a token booking amount. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena, who also serves as the DDA's chairman. In addition, the DDA stated that two options, namely buyback and re-development, were approved for the owners or allottees of Signature View Apartments in Mukherjee Nagar.

The statement by the authority mentioned that the approval for the launch of phase-IV of the DDA's online housing scheme with the facility to book a flat of one's choice in a preferred locality and floor, by paying a token booking amount, was in line with the prime minister's vision of 'Housing for All'.

Furthermore, the statement emphasised that there are no conditions requiring ownership of any plot or house in Delhi in order to book these flats, thereby enabling members of an extended family to own multiple houses for better urban living.

DDA is offering MIG flats in Dwarka and Narela for the first time, along with HIG flats in Jasola, in addition to LIG and EWS flats in Rohini, Narela, Siraspur, and Loknayak Puram under the first come, first serve housing scheme.

The statement stated that initially, around 5,000 flats of different categories will be available, and more flats will be added based on demand. To make the houses affordable for the general public, the DDA has kept the cost of most EWS/LIG flats the same as during the Special Housing Scheme in 2021, while others have been priced at the rates offered in 2022-23.

In a first, the DDA will issue online system-generated demand letters immediately once the registration payment is confirmed. The DDA has invested a significant amount in improving the infrastructure and connectivity of these localities based on feedback from previous schemes.

Recognizing the difficulties faced by residents of Signature View Apartments, the Authority has approved effective solutions for them. The housing authority will offer two options to the allottees/residents/owners of the Signature View Apartments to proceed with the matter.
