Himachal Pradesh uses Rs 51.34 cr to construct 3,419 homes for poor

In 2020-21, Himachal Pradesh used a Rs 51.34 crore budget under Swarn Jayanti Ashraya Yojana to build 3,419 pucca homes with basic facilities for the poor that belong to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes
.
Each beneficiary received Rs 1.5 lakh.
On Sunday, the state government issued a statement to claim that to support the Centre鈥檚 aim of housing for all by the end of 2022 and improve the beneficiaries鈥� standard of living, it had rolled the scheme even during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The families with an average yearly income below Rs 35,000 get the benefit. Under this scheme, the government provided Rs 7.69 crore to Mandi, Rs 3.25 crore to Hamirpur, Rs 3.13 crore to district Una, Rs 5.55 crore to Shimla, Rs 10.36 crore to Kangra district, Rs 3.84 crore to Sirmaur, Rs 4.78 crore to Solan, Rs 2.77 crore to Kullu, Rs 1.02 crore to Kinnaur, Rs 3.69 crore to Chamba, and Rs 2.74 crore to Bilaspur.
Additionally, Rs 82 lakh for 54 houses went to Bharmour in Chamba district, Rs 73.50 lakh for 49 homes to Pangi, Rs 33.70 lakh for 22 homes to Dodrakwar in Shimla, and Rs 59 lakh for 39 houses to Lahaul-Spiti.
