PM to Launch 58 Lakh Property Cards Under SVAMITVA Scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the distribution of 58 lakh property cards under the SVAMITVA Scheme, which provides a "Record of Rights" to property owners in rural India. This will cover over 50,000 villages across 12 states and union territories. The scheme, launched in 2020, aims to provide a digital record of land ownership, using advanced drone technology for accurate mapping.

This virtual event will also see participation from union ministers across the country, who will distribute property cards in various states. Since the launch of the scheme, 2.19 crore property cards have been finalized. The scheme鈥檚 target is to complete 100% property registration by 2026. The initiative is vital for empowering rural property owners, as it enables easier access to land records, helping in land disputes resolution and facilitating bank loans.
