Telangana Govt Sanctions Indiramma Houses for Displaced Families

The Telangana government has approved the construction of 4,696 Indiramma houses for families displaced by the Mid Manair Reservoir project. Under the Indiramma Indlu scheme, each beneficiary will receive financial assistance of ?5 lakh.

The Rajanna Siricilla district administration had earlier reported that 10,683 families displaced by the reservoir project were allotted house sites in 12 villages. While 5,987 families had already constructed homes, the remaining 4,696 families sought housing assistance. Following the district collector鈥檚 recommendation, Telangana Housing Corporation Limited forwarded the proposal to the government, which issued GO Ms 42, approving the project.

Additionally, 863 Indiramma houses have been sanctioned for families affected by the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal. These units, allocated from the state reserve quota, were approved with relaxed eligibility criteria to support displaced landowners.

The initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to addressing housing needs under its relief and rehabilitation (R&R) policies.
