Telangana Govt to develop Neopolis Kokapet project at Rs 265 cr

The Telangana Government has taken up the construction of Neopolis Kokapet, a greenfield township district, at a cost of Rs 265 crore.
The 533-acre layout development includes roads, underground drainage, a water supply distribution network, electrification, and streetlights, as well as larger plot sizes for multipurpose use zones and an unlimited Floor Space Index (FSI).
The project is expected to take about 18 months to complete. According to the annual report of Telangana's Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department for 2020-21, the government will provide modern infrastructure, which, once developed, is expected to employ about a million people in the next 5-7 years.
Neopolis Kokapet will see the construction of high-rise towers. By building a Trumpet Interchange at Kokapet layout and an additional entry and exit to the ORR at Narsingi, the layout development is proposed with seamless connectivity to the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
On the 15th and 16th of July, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) will auction plots in Kokapet. On behalf of the state government, 13 land parcels totalling 64.93 acres will be auctioned. The government has set the price per acre at Rs 25 crore.
At the pre-bid meeting for the e-auction held late last month, Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, told representatives of real estate companies and developers that Neopolis Kokapet will set an example for the rest of the country.
The land can be used for office buildings, commercial complexes, recreational facilities, and residential purposes. There will be no restrictions based on zones.
