Telangana govt to expedite Rs 560 cr for new OGH building

To expedite the long-pending construct of a new block within the Osmania General Hospital (OGH) campus, the Telangana government plans to incur an expenditure of Rs 560 crore to restore the OGH heritage structure and for the construction of a new health block.

Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said that the hospital鈥檚 heritage building would not be demolished but restored. A new building would be constructed without obstructing the view of the heritage building.

亚博体育官网首页 Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Health Minister T Harish Rao, Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Asaduddin Owaisi, MIM floor leader in Legislative Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi, and senior health officials held a detailed meeting with chief engineers to finalise plans to start the construction activity at OGH.

Harish Rao had directed the chief engineers to submit a detailed report on the construction of the new building soon.

A committee of chief engineers will submit a report on the hospital鈥檚 expansion and upgradation project.

The cost of restoration and construction of the new building will be around Rs 560 crore, and a proposal will be presented to CM and then to the cabinet.

A project report will also be submitted to High Court (HC) as a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) is pending regarding the heritage structure.

Harish Rao visited OGH and said the state government was actively considering the proposals to start the construction works for a new building at OGH soon without disturbing the heritage structure.
