TN government intends to build 1,186 houses in Kannappar Thidal

T M Anbarasan, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, stated in the Assembly that the State government will build more dwellings on 1.83 acre in Kannappar Thidal in the Egmore constituency by including the property owned by the Greater Chennai Corporation.

The Minister stated that the government has requested permission from the Corporation to build dwellings by demolishing the abandoned commercial complex and annexing the nearby property in his response to I Paranthaman, MLA, DMK, who represents the seat.

At first, 132 dwellings, each measuring 400 sq ft, were to be built. 594 dwellings measuring 250 sq ft each and 572 houses measuring 350 sq ft each would be built because the Corporation wished to build more homes.

The Minister said that 520 houses totaling 720 million had been built when Paranthaman inquired about giving homes to those who had been allotted in Santhosh Nagar. Action is being taken to establish a connection for drinking water and sewage. The residents who already resided there will receive a total of 272 homes, while the remaining homes will be distributed to the allottees.
