The board of the Indore Development Authority (IDA) approved its two ambitious plans, Town
Planning Schemes 9 and 10, and modified the use of a sizable tract of land to make way for the
projected 10,000-seat convention centre on Super Corridor. Five agendas were discussed during the
board meeting, which was presided over by Chairman Jaypal Singh Chawda and included Indore
Collector Ilayaraja T, Indore Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pratibha Pal, and the authority
CEO RP Ahirwar.
"IDA has received a total of 599 claims and objections for TPS 9 and TPS 10. They are now finished.
The board thus approved the creation of both plans. The state administration has been informed of
the ideas for final approval,鈥 said Chawda. As decided, TPS 9 will continue to include New Tilak
Nagar, but IDA will not have ownership of the colony's property. Property owners will be assessed
development fees, he added, adding that the assessment's valuation has not yet been completed. It
is anticipated to cost between Rs 200 and Rs 300 per square foot.
TPS 9 was proposed by IDA for 263 hectares of land in the Bicholi Hapsi, Kanadia, and Tigariya
Badshah areas, and 490 claims and objections were made in opposition to the scheme. Over 100 of
them had New Tilak Nagar-related claims and concerns. TPS 10 is being considered for 221 hectares
of land in the villages of Limbodagari, Palakhedi, Tigariya Badshah, and Bada Bangadada. 109 claims
and objections were made against it in all.
The board approved the appointment of a consultant for the 20-acre Startup Park during the
meeting. "The Startup Park's foundation stone will probably be poured within the next three
months. The board has agreed to convert a block of land at Kkasra numbers 322, 324, in Nainod
from residential to commercial usage in order to build a convention centre,鈥 said the board
chairman. "The plan has been submitted to the state government for its approval,鈥 he continued.
According to Chawda, the first phase of a swimming pool that is currently being built in Scheme 94
(sector F) has been completed, and the board has approved spending Rs 29.5 lakh so that the facility
can obtain approval from the International Swimming Federation to host international-level sporting
events.
