The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) has decided to organise the National Lok Adalat through the online medium at Lucknow headquarters and a local office in Greater Noida on 10th July 2021, to resolve disputes of homebuyers.
The first Lok Adalat was supposed to be held on 10th April 2021. However, due to the second wave of Covid-19 and its impact, it was postponed.
For organising Lok Adalat, Anand Shukla, legal advisor, UP-RERA, is appointed as the Nodal Officer.
Complaints registered before the authority as per Section 31 of the RERA Act, where mutual agreement, conciliation is possible, or an application for the agreement has already been filed by a party will be taken up.
Unfinished and prevailing cases ahead of the Conciliation Consultant of RERA, where settlement is possible based on the reconciliation agreement or a party has applied to the agreement will also be taken up.
Rajesh Kumar Tyagi, secretary, UP-RERA, said Through Lok Adalat homebuyers would receive the chance for transparent amicable agreement and quick settlement of their cases.
The Adalat will hear the same cases, where settlement is possible based on reconciliation agreement and the cases which have been pending for a long time.
