Uttarakhand budget’s rural infra push

The Uttarakhand Government has presented a Rs 57,400 crore budget for the 2021-2022 fiscal with major allocations to rural infrastructure, health, agriculture and employment generation.

Key relevant allocations made in the Uttarakhand Budget 2021:

Rs 1,511.29 crore for PWD
Rs 954.75 crore for the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana
Rs 695.16 crore for important infrastructure schemes
Rs 385.27 crore for annual maintenance and renovation of state roads

In addition, the state made an expenditure plan of Rs 3,319.63 crore for the medical and family welfare department, among other outlays. Total expenditure has been estimated at Rs 57,400.32 crore for 2021-22, while the fiscal deficit is pegged at Rs 8,984.53 crore.

Revenue expenditure in 2021-22 is estimated to be at Rs 44,036.31 crore, and under capital expenditure, a provision of Rs 13,364.01 crore has been made.
