BCLL wins National Bus Transport Award

Bhopal City Link (BCLL) has been honoured with the National Public Bus Transport Excellence Award 2022-23 in the Digital Transaction category by the Association of State Transport Undertaking (ASRTU), according to an announcement made by ASRTU, an apex coordinating body operating under the purview of the union ministry of road transport and highways.
The award, bestowed upon Manish Chaube of BCLL, was presented by Anurag Jain, who serves as the union government secretary and is also in charge of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The ceremony took place in New Delhi on March 15. Jain praised BCLL for its contribution to enhancing public bus transport in Bhopal, facilitating over 1.50 lakh commuters to travel daily through cashless transactions.
Bhopal emerged as the sole winner from Madhya Pradesh, surpassing competition from 40 other cities across India. The event, hosted at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, was attended by officials such as Suresh Bagde, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Mahmood Ahmed, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), along with Paresh Goel and RR Kishore from MoRTH, and Surya Kiran from ASRTU.
ASRTU?s primary objective is to elevate public transport to international standards.
Regarding another recent development, it was reported that Aseem Goel, serving as Haryana minister, opted for a roadways bus to travel to Chandigarh for a pre-appointment cabinet meeting. During the journey, he engaged in discussions about passengers' issues, praised the state's bus service, and expressed aspirations to enhance bus services for the welfare of the public.
