Sika signs deal to acquire MBCC Group at around $6 billion

Sika Group has signed an agreement to acquire MBCC Group from Lone Star Funds for nearly $6 billion.

This acquisition will increase its product and solution offerings in four of its five crore technologies and seven of eight Sika Target Markets and also strengthen the company's geographic footprint.

MBCC Group is active in construction and admixture systems. The company has around 7,500 employees, with operations across 60 countries and over 130 production facilities. It had expected to generate around $3.1 billion in 2021.

The company has a product portfolio of global and local brands. It participates in all construction phases, and the company is a key contributor to the decarbonisation of the construction industry.

Thomas Hasler, CEO of Sika Group, told the media that the company is the first in class for sustainable solutions across the construction sector and sets sustainability standards at the core of MBCC Group. He said that their partnership would provide the entire offerings to the construction industry. Having a combined portfolio, the companies will accelerate the future of the construction industry and benefit the customers, employees and shareholders.
