APADCL Invites Tenders for Greenfield Airports in Amaravati and Srikakulam

In a major push to enhance aviation infrastructure and connectivity, the Andhra Pradesh Airports Development Corporation Limited (APADCL) has invited tenders to select a consultant for conducting a pre-feasibility study and preparing a Techno-Economic Feasibility Report (TEFR) for the development of greenfield international airports in Amaravati and Srikakulam.

Key Tender Details E-tender issued: March 7, 2025 Technical bids opening: March 24, 2025 Financial bids opening: March 27, 2025 Scope of Work for the Selected Consultant The appointed consultant will be responsible for: ? Preparing a detailed TEFR 鈥� identifying technical & economic factors influencing airport development. ? Developing a master plan in line with current aviation guidelines. ? Creating a financial model & project structure to assess economic viability. ? Conducting environmental & social impact studies. ? Securing necessary government approvals.

Strategic Importance of Proposed Airports Amaravati International Airport To be developed as an independent civil airport for the State capital region. Location advantage: 40 km from Guntur 22 km from Vijayawada 90 km from Machilipatnam Port 35 km from Gannavaram (Vijayawada) Airport Expected to boost global investments in IT & industrial sectors, attracting multinational companies and software firms. Srikakulam International Airport Proposed site is 80 km north of Srikakulam. Well-connected via NH-16 (Kolkata-Chennai corridor). Proximity to Bay of Bengal enhances its strategic value, particularly for aerospace and defence industries. Government & Industry Reactions The State government鈥檚 decision to establish new international airports has been widely welcomed.
