Bhubaneswar Airport supports smooth supply of medical essentials

Airports Authority of India's (AAI) Biju Patnaik International Airport (BBI) or Bhubaneswar Airport and its stakeholders are extending their support amid the raging Covid-19 pandemic by seamless transportation of medical equipment and materials.

Every day the country's airports are transporting medical essentials and equipment over the country to strengthen the nation鈥檚 battle against the pandemic.

As many as 669 boxes of Covid vaccines have been transported by several airlines till May 9 through the Bhubaneswar Airport.

From 23 April 2021 to 11 May 2021 a sum of 156 empty oxygen tankers, 526 oxygen concentrators and 140 oxygen cylinders were transported through 75 Indian Air Force to overcome the oxygen crisis for the country. While several airlines transported 41 oxygen concentrators.

The consignment of 3,500 pieces of 10 litre seamless cylinder and 1,520 pieces of 46.7 litre seamless cylinders are in pipeline to be transported which is anticipated to arrive within a week from foreign countries.

Apart from this, Bhubaneswar Airport is also obeying all the Covid-19 guidelines and protocols as per the guidance of central and state governments to assure a safe journey for passengers.

To create awareness regarding Covid-19 suitable behavior, ensuring the safety of passengers, the airport is also publicising directions by various electronic and permanent displays at the terminal.

Covid-19 vaccination camp has been organised by Bhubaneswar Airport for employees of AAI and other stakeholders in collaboration and with assistance from the Odisha government.
