Ashok Leyland to deliver 200 trucks to Bangladesh

Ashok Leyland, an automotive vehicle manufacturer, announced that it would deliver 200 trucks to the Bangladesh government under the $2 billion line of credit declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
So far, Bangladesh has already received 135 built trucks.
The firm revealed that it won the bid organised by the Bangladesh government for 135 fully-built trucks, including a hydraulic beam lifter, 3T truck, and sewerage sucker, and Bangladesh's Roads and Highways Department already got these trucks.
Now, Ashok Leyland has been granted an order of another lot of 65 units of Truck Mounted Wrecker. It is an exclusive vehicle to be used by the Bangladesh government for several highway applications.
Ashok Leyland revealed that it is one of the leading commercial vehicle firms in Bangladesh, with over 50 touchpoints in the country.
Amandeep Singh, head of the international operation, Ashok Leyland, said it plans to increase its footprint in overseas markets, mainly the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Africa, and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The firm said that the Government of India is taking different export facilitation measures, and this supply to Bangladesh would further strengthen their position in the country.
Ashok Leyland was established in 1948 and is owned by the Hinduja Group. It is the second-largest producer of commercial vehicles in India and fourth worldwide.
