Panel on highway projects to have five members

The government proposed committee, headed by C Rangarajan, to resolve inter-ministerial differences over the proposal to reschedule premium payments for a clutch of highway projects will have five members, say sources. The five member-panel includes Planning Commission secretary Sindhushree Khullar, road ministry secretary Vijay Chhibber, NHAI chairman RP Singh, expenditure secretary RS Gujral and PM's economic advisory council secretary Alok Sheel. The creation of the panel was a cabinet decision on October 8. It is expected to come out with recommendations in four weeks. The proposal for premium rescheduling of a clutch of beleaguered highway projects will still have to go through another round of tough negotiations.

GPT Infra Q4 Profit Rises 50% to Rs 240 Million

GPT Infraprojects reported a 49.72 per cent surge in consolidated net profit to Rs 240 million for Q4 FY25, up from Rs 162 million in the same quarter last year.Revenue from operations rose 29.06 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 3.81 billion for the quarter ending 31 March 2025. Profit before tax grew by 20.43 per cent to Rs 286 million, compared with Rs 238 million in Q4 FY24.Segment-wise, infrastructure revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 3.47 billion, up 31.57 per cent YoY, while revenue from concrete sleepers reached Rs 336 million, an increase of 7.83 per cent.EBITDA for the quarter rose..
