Once Khed bypass opens, travel time between Pune-Nashik will reduce

The 212 kilometres between Pune and Nashik may often be travelled in 4.5 hours. In certain cases, it may even take an hour to travel this distance due to the state buses that travel along the highway's small roadway through the busy market town of Khed, which slows down traffic and creates congestion. It takes an additional 30-45 minutes for the vehicles to pass through the town as a result of the big vehicles passing along the corridor.

At least 10 police officers would be stationed along the 5-km stretch during the busiest times. Construction on the Khed bypass was begun by the NHAI in October 2020, and it was finished in just over two years. The proposed bypass on the Pune-Nashik highway would not only shorten but also simplify the journey between the two districts.
