Indian Railways to build tracks up to Moreh in Manipur

Anshul Gupta, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway, informed that the survey for constructing railway lines up to Myanmar's borders in Manipur's Moreh has been conducted and the project would be finished in more than two years of works being formally sanctioned.

The railway lines up to Moreh will be finished in two to two and a half years, according to Gupta, as work is being sanctioned.

These railroads would be a part of Indian Railways' expansion in the underserved northeast region, which would increase all-weather connectivity, strategic needs, and tourism.

In addition, the railway line connecting Shahbajpur, Bangladesh, and Karimganj, India, will be finished by March 2023. Lines between Agartala, India, and Akhaura, Bangladesh, will be finished by 2023.

In addition, a survey for Bhutan's first rail connection has begun and will be finished by March 2023. After work is approved, the project will be finished in more than two years.

He claimed that the state capitals of Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh were the two states in northeast India with the most railway connections.
