Mumbai Local Train: Block between Goregaon and Kandivali

In a key initiative to advance the construction of the 6th line, Western Railway has announced a major block on the 5th line between Goregaon and Kandivali stations. This block is scheduled to take place on Sunday or Monday, 29th or 30th September 2024, from 21:30 to 07:30, lasting for a duration of 10 hours.

Additionally, another significant block will affect the Up and Down Harbour lines from 00:30 to 10:30, also lasting for 10 hours. The Up and Down Slow and Fast lines will experience a separate 4-hour block from 00:30 to 04:30.

During the block from 00:30 to 04:30, train services will be limited to running between Churchgate and Andheri, and between Virar and Borivali. Trains operating from Churchgate to Goregaon, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Goregaon, and Panvel to Goregaon will terminate at Andheri and reverse direction from there.

This decision follows a similar block implemented the previous day, intended to support the construction of the new 6th line between Goregaon and Kandivali. Railway authorities are confident that these improvements will significantly enhance train operations and ease congestion on the current lines.
