Pune Metro stations given green signal by CoEPUT audit

Maharashtra Metro Railway Corporation Company Limited (Maha-Metro) has received validation from the College of Engineering Pune Technological University (CoEPTU) that all metro stations are deemed safe after undergoing a thorough safety and technical audit. Maha-Metro promptly engaged CoEPTU to conduct a comprehensive structural assessment in response to concerns raised by engineers regarding the construction quality of the metro stations.

Maha-Metro issued a press release stating that they have successfully addressed all construction issues raised by two city-based structural engineers, Narayan Kochak and Shirish Khasbardar.

Hemant Sonawane, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Maha-Metro, confirmed the submission of the final report on the structural inspections of Pune Metro by COEPUT. The report affirms that the metro stations have passed all tests and are deemed ready for public use. It further states that the assessment involved meticulous site visits, thorough observations, and detailed investigations of the station structures, including their earthquake resistance capacity.

The expert assessment conducted by COEPUT validates the structural integrity and security of the metro stations, emphasizing Maha-Metro's commitment to prioritize passenger safety. The press release reiterates Maha-Metro's dedication to maintaining the highest levels of security in their metro stations and assures passengers that necessary measures will continue to be implemented.

Sonawane, the register of CoEPTU, confirmed that a comprehensive audit of Maha- Metro's work was conducted, and the report was delivered to Maha-Metro officials. The technical examination was carried out by a team led by Professor Bhalchandra Birajdar.
