Pune Metro to start operations on two routes from March 6

From March 6, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited's (Maha-Metro) two routes in Pune city- Vanaz to Garware college and Pimpri to Phugewadi will be operational for the public.
The officials of Maha-Metro told the media that on January 6, the Pimpri-Phugewadi station got clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS). On February 10, the Vanaz-Garware college route's inspection was done, which is likely to get a certificate soon.
Between Vanaz to Garware college, the metro covers five stations, a distance of 5 km.
The Maha-Metro officials already began to train local drivers and even increased trial runs between Pimpri and Phugewadi, a distance of 5.8 km.
The officials revealed that around 30 drivers are being trained before the service starts for the public. Every driver is experienced, and during the trial routes, officials are also observing signals, tracks, and additional equipment.
On the civil court Ramwadi stretch, 90% of viaduct work is finished. The civil court Ramwadi stretch (Reach III) travels through Pune Station, Bund Garden, Kalyaninagar, Yerawada, and RTO.
The officials revealed that the viaduct work is going on near Sangam bridge at present.
The Maha-Metro expects to complete each Metro route by December 2022.
