General Manager of South Central Railway Gajanan Mallya told the media that the Andhra Pradesh government is not releasing funds for the execution of railway projects. Mallya told the media that he met the state government representatives and discussed the funding of the ongoing railway project, including the Nadikudi-Srikalahasti and Kadapa-Bengaluru. He hopes that the government will soon release the funds to complete the project, which will benefit the passengers. The MPs Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) said that the state government is committed to completing the ongoing railway project, but the Covid-19 pandemic has dismayed the spirits. The MPs of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Kesineni Srinivas and Galla Jaya Dev were not present in the meeting, while the members of TDP, Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, were present. YSRCP members, including M Bharat, Vanga Geeta, Gorantla Madhava and L Sri Krishnadevaraya, requested the SCR to expedite the establishment of the new railway zone, following the AP Reorganization Act 2014. Ravindra Kumar said that the railway department officials should not only focus on the beautification but expedite the completion of the ongoing infrastructure projects. Two projects are pending either due to non-payment of funds or lack of funds from the state government. He even urged the YSRCP officials to grant the funding to SCR to complete the railway project.
