Kohima Smart City (KSC) has made it to the 10th position out of the 100 smart cities and is now certified as 鈥楨nabled鈥 in the Data Maturity Assessment Framework (DMAF) 2.0.

KSC Development Ltd. joint CEO Avelu Ruho said that this was declared on June 25 by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs during the sixth-anniversary celebration of Smart City Mission, AMRUT and PMAY (Urban). It informed that Kohima was the only smart city in the North East to make it to the top ten and shares the 10th position with two other cities.

The Smart Cities Mission started the Data-Smart Cities Strategy in February 2019, as a roadmap for providing the potential of data to address complex urban challenges over 100 Cities. To successfully execute this initiative, the DMAF was also started to encourage cities to grow their data infrastructure and facilitate them in assessing their readiness and maturity on data.

On the occasion, another assessment of cities concerning climate change preparedness was also issued, in which Kohima secured two stars out of a maximum of five stars in the Climate Smart Cities Assessment Framework 2.0.
